 Disk Management  Disk is a secondary storage device that is used to store data.  The external devices such as hard disk, magnetic disks and floppy disks stores data in the sectors.  These devices provide the data to user programs by means of I/O requests.  Disk Management is an important function of operating system and includes disk buffering and management of swap area and disk cache.  Disk Structure  Disks provide a means to store a large amount of information for modern computer.  A disk is usually divided into tracks, cylinder and sectors.  Below fig shows the various components of a disk system.  Data is stored on a series of magnetic disks called platters. Some basic information about Football

Football 

 History /Introduction 

Football is an ancient game. In ancient times, it was played in Egypt, China,and Europe under different rules. The rules of modern football were framed by Cambridge University, England in 1848. The first football club named '' Shefield football club '' was established in England. 

The first international match was played between England and Scotland in 1872. Federation of international football association (FIFA) was established in 1904. The game of football was included in Olympic games in 1908. The first world cup of football was organised in 1930. It is the most popular game of the world and is played by more than 200 countries of the world. 

In india, it was initiated by Britishers. India participated in football, in 1948, London Olympics for the first time. India stood fourth in 1956 Melbourne Olympics. India has the honour of winning 1951 and 1962 Asian games. 

Latest rules of Football are :- 

1. Number of players  :  Football is played between two teams. Each team has 11 players. Teams also have 7-7 substitute players. 

2. Duration of the play :- This game is played in two halves. For men, it is played in two halves of 45 minutes each with an interval of 15 minutes. For women, it is played in two halves of 40 minutes each. The teams change sides of ground after half time. 

3.Start of the match :- Match is started with the toss of coin. The winning team has a right to kick off or to choose side. The game is started by kicking the ball from the centre of the ground to the opposite side. The game is started in similar fashion after the interval or after every goal. 

4.Goal :- According to the rule, when the ball croses the goal line between the goal post and under the cross bar, the goal is scored. The team with maximum number of goals is declared as winner. If there is no goal, or same number of goals are scored by both sides the game is considered as a draw but both the team will be given 1 point each in this case, if the tournament is conducted under league system. 

5.Golden goal :- There is an extra time of 15-15 minutes in case of a draw. During this duration, whenever a goal is scored, the match is ended and the team who had scored the goal is declared as winner. If there is no goal in this duration, both the team are given penalty kicks until there is some final decision. 

6.Penalty kick :- it is taken from the penalty spot. The goalkeeper and the player taking the kick are both in penalty area while kicking. Other players are at least 9.15 m away from this area. The player who takes the kick can not touch the ball again until goalkeeper has touched it. 

7.Goal kick :- When the attacking player plays the ball and it goes out of goal line, then the defending player kicks it out of penalty area. The players of attacking team will be out of penalty area during that time. 

8.Yellow and red card :- the referee decides In the favour of the opposite team when some player plays a foul but if a player plays a foul intentionally, and his /her action can cause an injury to opposite player, then the referee can give him a yellow card. If a player tries to cause an serious injury to other player, the referee can give him a red card also. In that case, the player has to leave the field immediately and his team has to play with lesser players. In other case, yellow card is shown twice become a red card.
