Tips to Remember :
1. Length of Swimming pool is 50 metre.
2. Width of the swimming pool is 21 metre to 25 metre.
3. Depth of the swimming pool is more than 1.80 metre.
4. Number of lanes in swimming pool is 8 (For Olympics there are 10 lanes, but normally 8 lanes are used).
5. Water level of the swimming pool is always constant.
6. Temperature of water is 24 degree Celsius.
7. Clothing like non transparent costume, cap with ear protector and goggles.
8. Width of Lane of the swimming pool is 2.5 metre.
9. Platform surface area of Swimming pool is 0.5 × 0.5 metre.
10. Height of the platform from water is 0.5 to 0.75 metre.
11. Starting platform slope of Swimming pool is not more than 10 degree.
12. Officials, there are one referee, four judges of stroke, two starters, three inspector of turn, two recorder, two clerk of course, one false start rope personnel,one Announcer, six time keepers, one chief finish judge and finish judge.
Latest Rules of Swimming :-
The main rules of Swimming are :-
1. A swimmer who obstructs the way of other players can be expelled.
2. If a player lags behind because of interruption by the other player, the referee can allow him to participate again.
3. In all the events the swimmer has to touch last corner of the pool while turning. Diving at the bottom of the pool is not allowed.
4. No swimmer can wear such dress or thing which can help him in swimming fast.
5. Swimmer has to start and finish the race in same Lane.
The events of free style, breast stroke, butterfly and medley are organised in the competition. As in Athletics, the player who touches the finishing line first is declared as the winner. Judges conduct the competition. It is a world level sport these days.
Fundamental Skills Of Swimming :
This is a very difficult stroke. In this stroke both the arms push the body forward and the legs move up and down alternatively.
