 Disk Management  Disk is a secondary storage device that is used to store data.  The external devices such as hard disk, magnetic disks and floppy disks stores data in the sectors.  These devices provide the data to user programs by means of I/O requests.  Disk Management is an important function of operating system and includes disk buffering and management of swap area and disk cache.  Disk Structure  Disks provide a means to store a large amount of information for modern computer.  A disk is usually divided into tracks, cylinder and sectors.  Below fig shows the various components of a disk system.  Data is stored on a series of magnetic disks called platters. Some basic information of Table Tennis

History / Introduction 

Table tennis is a popular indoor game. In reality, the place of its origin is not known, but it is said that this game was started in the last decade of 19th century in great Britain. Earlier, it's name was 'Gossima'. After that it acquired the name of 'ping - pong'. 

International table tennis federation was formed in 1926 in Berlin. In India, table tennis association was established in 1938. Table tennis become a part of Asian games in 1958. Table tennis became an Olympic sport in Seoul in 1988. India has  hosted World Table Tennis Championship three times i.e, in 1952, 1984 - 85 and 1986 - 87. In India, this game is controlled by Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI). 

Latest Rules of Table Tennis:

1. Match : Match will be of 5 or 7 games. 
2. Selection of Side and Service : The winner of toss has the right to choose to be server or receiver. If the winner of the toss or lot chooses to be server or first striker then the toss looser has the right to choose the side. The toss winner can also give the right of choice to his opponent. 
In the double game, the team who has the right to first 2 services decides about who is to do this. The opponent team decides which player will receive service first. 
3. Change of side : the player or team will change their sides in the next game. The sequence will continue till the end of game. The player or the team who makes 5 points earlier in the last game of match can change the side. 
4. Change of service : in the singles or double game, the receiver player or pair will become the server and server will become the receiver after every two points and this sequence will continue till the end of game. 
On the score of 10 - 10 each or when the game is played under expedite system the sequence of service and attacking will be same, but each player will do one service each. The player or pair who serve first will become a receiver in the next point. 
5. Game : the player or players win who scores 11 point earlier. If both player or players make 10 - 10 points each then the player or players which score 2 points earlier than the opposite player will win. 
6. Good service : during service, the free hand coordinating with with ball should be open, fingers joined together and thumb should be open. The server should bounce the ball in the air in a manner that it should always be visible to the official and he should bounce the ball to atleast 16 cm height. Then he hits the ball in such a way that it first bounces in the server's court and then in the opposite player's court. 
7. Good return : the player will hit the ball in such a way that it should cross the net and touch the opposite court directly. 
8. Point : A player lose a point when :
1. He does not serve good. 
2. He does not give good return. 
3. His free hand touches the playing surface when the ball is in the play. 
4. The opposite player hits the ball twice in succession. 
5. He shakes the playing surface. 
6. If the player hits the ball such that it crosses the end lines of the opposite court without bouncing. 
9. Out of order of serving or ends : if the player do not change the side or service on time, they will do so, as soon as they come to know about this mistake. All the points made before the knowledge of mistake will be counted.
